Introduction

The Office of Resident Commissioner was created in the year of 2000-2001

The main functions of this office are as under:-

• Liaison and Coordination with Government of India and other State Government
• Act as the Principal Representative of the State Government in Delhi.
• Follow up with Central Ministries, Departments, PSUs, and other Central Agencies on issues related to the State Government
• Protocol function & coordinate visits / meetings of various State Dignitaries in Delhi
• Facilitate official visits of Dignitaries to the State
• Represent the State at National events, Exhibitions, Trade fairs, and Cultural festivals.
  Promote the state’s economic, cultural, and tourism activities in Delhi and encourage for investment in the State
  Act as point of contact for state residents in Delhi/NCR to facilitate their issues
• Establish and maintain effective liaison with the Ministry of External Affairs and Indian Mission abroad for addressing issues concerning residents of the State.
• Coordinate with other offices of Resident Commissioners in respect of inter-state maters
• Any other duties assigned by State Government from time to time
